How we grew 1 million trees in 2018

Taking Root’s 2018 Impact: After the success of 2017 and wide-reaching publicity received by Taking Root, we are delighted to have continued to grow our community reforestation program in 2018.

In 2018 we worked with 62 new communities and welcomed 153 new farmers into the Taking Root program to plant over 1 million trees. Behind these numbers are impacts which are now being felt by thousands of people in Northern Nicaragua who benefit from the financial security provided by the program and the regeneration of natural ecosystems.

We have big plans for 2019 and are already busy for the next planting season. This is a chance to say thank you to everyone who has supported and championed our work to date. Here’s a look back at some of the extraordinary impact you helped us achieve in 2018.
